Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then she became a morning reporter and anchor for WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with care, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger directive for state authorities. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell was then employed by the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's reported on events such like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of Pre-ShowArrivals shows in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She also co-hosted for the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
